You’re never too old to be on the FBI’s Most Wanted List, and Eugene Palmer is proof of that.
He is the oldest person on the list, but authorities are still hoping to find him and bring him to justice. He is wanted for the allegedly killing his daughter-in-law in Stony Point, New York, in 2012.
Eugene K. Palmer was born on April 4, 1939. He was added to the FBI’s Ten Most Wanted Fugitives list on May 29, 2019–and they are so eager to catch him they are offering a $100,000 reward for information leading to his arrest.
Palmer is an experienced hunter and outdoorsman. He also has an interest in auto-racing and is known as a car enthusiast.
He is 5’10” tall and weighs around 220 pounds. Palmer is a white male with gray and/or balding hair. One thing this fugitive can’t hide is his deformed thumb on his left hand. He also relies on medication for a heart condition and diabetes.
Palmer is wanted for allegedly killing his daughter-in-law, Tammy Palmer. At the time of the murder, she was married to his son, John Palmer, but she had recently filed a restraining order against him.
Eugene lived next door to the couple. Tammy had threatened to sue for the land belonging to Eugene, which the couple lived on, and started a family feud that police believe led to Eugene killing her.
On September 24, 2012, after Tammy put her two children on the school bus, authorities believe that she was ambushed in an attack carried out by Eugene Palmer. During the attack, three shots were fired. The first shot struck her in the arm, and the second shot missed her. The third and final shot was delivered at close range to her chest, which killed her.
Eugene allegedly fled the scene in a truck that was later found abandoned near Harriman State Park in Rockland County. Police brought in search dogs that followed his scent to a campground in the woods; however, Eugene was gone and there have been no traces of him since.
Authorities believe that Eugene Palmer may be hiding in Florida or Upstate New York.
